Lap Band Question

by lisa
(Richmond Virginia, USA)

Regarding Lap Band:

I have had 2 adjustments and my surgery was on 9/4/08. I know I need to have protein in my diet but actually how much do I need to at least keep the hunger away? Can you help?

Hi Lisa and thanks for writing!

Protein is an important part of your Lap-Band diet because it helps you heal after surgery and it also helps fill you up.

Please see my website devoted entirely to Lap-Band: Your Personal Lap-Band Guide.

You can read all about the best protein sources, protein shakes and see my protein shake recipes.

Aim for 60-80 grams of protein per day as a general guideline. However, be sure to follow your bariatric center's guidelines if they are different.

Keep me updated on your progress!

Suzette
